rfaires Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 Hi - I recently bought a 2003 TDCi Ghia but only got one key (the remote one) with it. I'd like to get a spare sorted ASAP and have managed to obtain a second remote fob but do any of you guys know anywhere in the Daventry/Northampton/rugby/coventry area that can supply the new key blank complete with the immobiliser transponder and copy cut a Galaxy key from the original? Programming the remote fob and the PATS won't be a problem as I have access to IDS but my local dealer group don't have key cutting facilities. Quote
gregers Posted July 17, 2009 Report Posted July 17, 2009 well timpsons can cut the key,but you have a choice on trying ebay or the dealer for the blank.iirc there are a few ads on ebay where the chip comes with the blank. Quote

Cheers for that. Took my genuine Ford key blank to the local Timpsons who cut it for free 'cos I supplied the blank and they "couldn't gaurantee it". Sadly the blank wansn't mounted in the vise properly and it was cut too shallow at the tip so didn't fit the lock. They had a second attempt and fortunately managed to correct it without screwing up the blank. Quote
